Stray

In February 2019 I heard a news report about a humpback whale being found in the Amazon forest, which had baffled Brazilian scientists. The news intrigued me as I am quite fond of these gentle giants from the sea. I felt sad for the whale and I too wondered how it may have ended up here.

So, I thought as I have a penchant to create B-Movie style paintings, where the creature/animal/alien life form is the protagonist or catalyst of fear in my other works of art. It would be only fitting to paint a tale where not all giant creatures are scarily causing the demise of the human race. But rather a painting of the opposite, to remember this gentle giant and how beautifully majestic these whales truly are and at how lucky we are to have these creatures around in our time of existence.

Although this original painting sold, a run of 50 limited edition giclee prints are available. 40cm x 30 cm, signed by the artist. Printed on Hahnemuhle textured fine art paper (German etch) 310gsm
