The Gooseberry Wife

Is a folklore creature from the Isle of White. She keeps children from plucking berries off the gooseberry bushes. She appears in the form of a large hairy caterpillar. She doesn’t smoke hookah, but she is a very hungry caterpillar. She will eat any children for messing with her berries.

The only way to stay safe from her is to avoid stealing her gooseberries.
