From Greek text of natural folklore, complied in the 2nd Century AD:

The Antlion is made up from the body of an ant and the head of a lion. The head comes from the dad and the body from its mother an ant.

It lives a tragic and short life. Dies of starvation and as an ant, can’t process meat and a lion only wants to eat meat.
