Bespoke B-movie pet portrait of Buck the dog.
My client commissioned me to paint this as a surprise gift for their partner. Who is a massive fan of Ray Harryhausens work (Jason & The Argonauts, Clash of the Titans, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad). As a big fan of his work myself, this was a dream commission for me.
I decided upon going with the Skeleton army, known as ‘Children of Hydra’s Teeth’ from the 1963 movie ‘Jason & the Argonauts’. Having them rise from beneath Brighton Beach to confront Buck, who is standing up on his back legs, leaning on the groyne, alert and ready to defend his home from these creepy tyrants. The painting was well received by my client and their partner and I loved painting it.
This painting along with all my commissioned B-Movie Pet Portraits, was painted on an A4 sized canvas.
