Greek Mythology.

Cerberus is a three-headed dog in Greek mythology. His role is to guard the gates of Hades and allow dead people in but no one out. He was not allowed to admit any living people into Hell; as a flesh-eating monster, he was supposed to eat anyone who tried to get in.
