Painting Planters – Community Workshop

Thursday 13th & Thursday 20th August 2020

I held a two day workshop over East Brighton in association with Wellsbourne Healthcare CIC, The Trust For Developing Communities, East Brighton Trust & Sussex Community Foundation. These workshops were aimed at 11-18 year olds living in East Brighton, to learn the skill of wall stencilling. We painted 3 different sized planters up. The blue planter was 1980’s design inspired, hand painted blue, then stencilled and finger painted splats. The Purple planter was created by young people from the workshop, which was camouflage inspired. Lastly the orange planter was also thought up by the young people on the workshop, who decided on tiger markings. Hand painted in orange and then stencilled black tiger print. These were all done in acrylic paint and then spray varnished when completed.
