Red Blood Sky

By Dead Jaw

Cover artwork for the single release of Brighton based band Dead Jaw. With free reign on what to do for the cover and the song lyrics of ‘Red Blood Sky’ in mind. The painting depicts the band burning a praying mantis. While the beast burns, its brainwashed puppets with mobile phone heads pray for its survival.

Inspired by the use of a striking image in 3 dominant colours of red, black & white by graphic novel artist Eric Drooker for the album cover of ‘King for a day fool for a life time’ by Faith No More . Not only are FNM one of my favourite bands of all time. But Back in the early 90s, Inspired teenager me as a bass player for many years, in different bands & still inspiring me now through other creative art forms. Whilst respecting FNM, I also wanted to create something epic for the band Dead Jaw. Not only do I love this band for their song writing creativity, but the powerful lyrics made creating this cover easier on what my vision was for the final piece. If you’ve never heard Dead Jaw, you really should. Go check them out wherever you listen to music. And if you’ve never listened to Faith no more, strap in and enjoy the incredible ride.
